The hotel offers spacious and pleasantly appointed rooms, but there were some carpet moth chrysalis hanging from the ceiling in the bathroom and room. The service was disappointing, with staff showing lack of knowledge and being rude. On the bright side, the location is excellent for both business and dining options.
I found the hotel to have spacious rooms with a refrigerator, probably due to the high ceilings. It was located in the modern building behind the historic one which housed the Reception and breakfast room. The room was spacious with a separate main bedroom and kitchen. I appreciated the ability to walk to where I needed to be for business and leave my car in the car park after checking out while working. The location was central in Rockhampton, making it a convenient stop on a journey to North QLD.
The hotel was recommended as a good place to stay but had some drawbacks. The room wasn't made up when we arrived, the onsite cafe/restaurant was closed, and it was challenging to find something to eat. The room itself was located at the very back of the building behind the main building with a view of an ugly brick wall, needed a decor revamp, and felt very dated.
